originally performed as part of a larger collaborative work, also affiliated with 7form. this audio is unedited from its original recording. the piece documents me playing with a malfunctioning tape recorder and some old mixtapes my parents made in the 80s. most of the piece revolves around me quietly realizing that i was destroying these tapes in the action of playing them in such a careless manner. i then spend the back half of the release desperately trying to tape the two tapes i destroyed back into a usable state. i succeed in only one of the two of them. the piece ends with me destroying the tape recorder further in an act of hubris. composed in real time. the end of each track indicates a point where i stopped the recording in audacity.
